Free Wedding Day Itinerary

Need a free wedding day itinerary? First decide what type of wedding you are going to have.

A wedding is a ceremony that celebrates the beginning of a marriage or civil union between two people; these days it is no longer required for the partners to be of the opposite sex. Marriage is still a legal contract despite the religious background; the legal act of marriage only occurs once the signing a marriage license or other legal document is complete. Traditionally, the woman getting married is the bride and the man the bridegroom usually abbreviated to groom; the terms husband and wife are then the traditional terms to use after the ceremony.

The White Wedding

There are many factors that can affect a wedding tradition and those of religion, race and social class for example, ca make it very complicated. Traditionally the church is the most popular venue, where the ceremony is presided over by a Christian priest. The traditional white wedding as we know it is really only a service that is popular in the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland and some other Commonwealth countries.

Double Ceremonies

A rare type of marriage is where two separate couples decide to marry at the same time; ceremonies such as this are usually instigated by siblings who like the idea of a simultaneous marriage.

Foreign Resort Weddings </P>

Marriages in foreign countries are called destination weddings where guests can arrive either just before the ceremony or actually travel with the couple; it doesn’t matter exactly where you travel to, whether it is in Egypt or just to Las Vegas it will still be considered a destination wedding.

Weddings over a Weekend

Whilst it is quite normal for the Irish to have three day weddings, more couples are taking the hint and having theirs over a weekend which gives them more time to enjoy the occasion. To cater for an expanding market a number of companies arrange special themed occasions that incorporate anything from golf to surfing. This is quite a good idea especially if the bride and groom have similar interests as both they and their guests can stay at the same location.

Internet Weddings

Still in the early stages of evolution is the internet wedding where the couple is married online; internet based specialists are already available to help organize your ceremony. This can prove a useful tool where relatives and friends from around the world can see an online wedding take place in real time without actually being there!

Marriages without Religious Representation Despite the term civil wedding, most services that take place outside of a Church, wherever that may be, are civil weddings which have to be carried out by appointed or elected judges, mayors or a justice of the peace. Civil ceremonies may use references to God, but they do not generally make references to particular religions or denominations. Many civil ceremonies take place in local town or city halls or courthouses in judge’s chambers.

If you live in a Christian country then you will recognize many of these wedding traditions but there are many more types of ceremony available around the world.
